Superintendent's Message

Warm greetings to all. Thank you for visiting our website.
These are incredibly bountiful times for the Rio Linda Union School District. Our students are making great strides on achievement tests. Nine of our 21 schools have been selected a California Distinguished School and one school has been awarded the National Blue Ribbon Award. We have fully credentialed teachers in every one of our classrooms.
Considered one of the most innovative school districts in the region, we are succeeding with the challenges of teaching a divergent student population with a blend of cutting-edge educational programs and old-fashioned heart. Truly, no child is left behind in the Rio Linda Union School District.
We have lower class sizes than many surrounding districts, more classroom specialists, a higher book and supply allowance, and lower administrative costs. We have resource specialists at every school and we offer an array of community outreach activities. 2007-08 is the 94th and final school year for the Rio Linda Union School District. As a result of the November 2007 election, community members determined the Rio Linda Union School District will be unified with three other school districts which will result in a new preschool through twelfth grade school district. The Rio Linda Union School District will enthusiastically work with the other school districts to accomplish a smooth transition.
To learn more about the new pre-kindergarten – 12th grade school district which will officially open on July 1, 2008, please check out their website. It is http://www.twinriversusd.org or you can click on the link on the Rio Linda Union School District website.
Best Wishes,
Debra LaVoi, Ed.D. Interim Superintendent
