Program Improvement Updates
NCLB CHOICE:
NCLB
School of Choice information and applications were mailed home to TRUSD
parents of Elementary and Junior High School students the week of July
15, 2010. The applications for Choice were due August 20th. We are
currently processing the applications and coordinating with our
Transportation Department to establish routes for Choice students . Students
must remain at their home schools until they have been notified by the
TRUSD Categorical Programs Department that the transfer can take place.
All students enrolled at the schools below are eligible for Choice:
Elementary: Babcock,
Castori, Del Paso, Fairbanks, Garden Valley,
Hagginwood, Kohler, Larchmont, Johnson,
Morey, Noralto, North Avenue, Smythe and Village,
Secondary: Foothill Farms,
Rio Tierra, MLK, Rio Linda Prep, Foothill High, and
Grant High
SUPPLEMENTAL EDUCATIONAL SERVICES (SES):
SES
information and applications will be sent home to TRUSD parents in
September after official AYP data has been released by the State.
Students from low-income families who are enrolled at the above listed
program improvement schools are eligible for SES at no cost to the parent.
The
per pupil allotment set by the CA Department of Education for TRUSD
will be approximately $1,280.00. To meet the requirement of No Child
Left Behind, the district will set aside 20% of its Title 1 funds.
Participation in the SES program, based on previous enrollment, will be
in excess of that amount. Twin Rivers Unified School District is
dedicated to monitoring the SES program so that students receive high
quality, research-based instruction specifically designed to increase
student academic achievement.
